With running's increased popularity not just as a sport and form of exercise, but as a third space where one can find community, REV offers a wide selection of running shoes and apparel from the top brands while also helping you find your stride with their community runs led by their pacers.
I got into the brand as the only designer before any of the store's have opened, taking responsibility for the overall visual direction of the brand's on-the-ground printed materials as well as its' online media presence.

Visual Identity Design for REV CLUB RUNS
REV* Club Runs are the community runs hosted by the REV Pacers, usually around the retail store locations (Alabang Town Center in Alabang and S Maison in Pasay). I worked on the logotype as well as the visual design treatment; inspired by the grunginess of photo scans/XEROX scans, aiming for a look that showed self-improvement is often not pretty or perfect.
Being the sole designer for this brand (among other business units within the company) means figuring out the look and feel of things on the first few tries, as timelines often do not lend themselves for exploration. Which is a challenge that really forces me to develop my taste fast and my technical skills even faster.

As someone who used to have a lot of self–doubt, the best way I've learned to go about it is to just trust my instincts, but also be willing to learn when they fail me.
Above: In–feed social media posts for announcing the runs of the week.

Early drafts for the logotype. Decided to combine 2 of the concepts.

Left most concept was to visualize the concept of taking "the first step" by typesetting in a way where the words "step down".  Combined this with the ellipse shape from the right most concept to symbolize repetition for a more visually pronounced logo.

Product Photography Art Direction.
Photography by MELVIN BISPO (@iamv1n)
Providing art direction for REV through their product shoots. On top of ensuring brand consistency, this often times  entailed being the photographer's assistant as well as scouting for locations as we did not have a dedicated space for shooting apart from using the space of the physical retail stores.
As someone who used to play around with their cousin's DSLR camera (a Nikon D3500 to be specific) during my pre–teen years, I have always thought photography to be one of my first creative passions.
The philosophy I try to bring into photography (and design to an extent) both as a shooter and as an art director is that there is beauty in every subject, it's just a matter of perspective.
